Discover the Design and Fashion World of MATE

MATE Bikes are robust, fast, foldable, stowable, urban and tell their most important story by design in the way their form follows function. Unlike most e-bikes, MATE is designed with a hidden, removable battery , which, supplemented by its chunky tyres and offbeat but on-trend fashion colours, give the bike a unique look influenced by street culture and fashion codes with ultimate rider functionality.

The sleek, future-facing design of MATE was an early signifier in the brands swift success as the most successful crowd funded ever on the Indiegogo platform. Support from global music stars, tech entrepreneurs, sportspeople and the fashion world followed.

Riders of MATE, a Red Dot finalist in 2021 include Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, DJ Khaled, Leonardo di Caprio, Japanese supermodel Hikari Mori and breakout British tennis star Emma Raducanu, among others. The MATE e-bike has also found success among the Silicon Valley elite, building a rider community.

This group of global superstars and sports and tech leaders come from wildly different fields, but all are attracted to MATE first by the simple logic of using an e-bike, and second because of the customisable stop-and-stare design elements of both the MATE City and the MATE X models.

Collaborations with the fashion, lifestyle and luxury worlds have spread the word about MATE to different global communities. Italian luxury house Moncler, created a limited-edition MATE e-bike for their House of Genius collection, and iconic LA/Milan label Palm Angels followed by creating an e-bike styled for their Americana obsessed community.

In 2022 MATE have collaborated with Evian, creating bikes to honour Evian’s B-Corp status and in celebration of Earth Day, encouraging people to make small changes to lead a sustainable lifestyle. Big changes are tough, but small changes, such as taking a bike instead of a car can come easy. For summer 2022, MATE have partnered with London PRIDE, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with a “Show Your Colours” bike celebrating the rainbow of variety in both MATE and the LGBTQIA+ community.
